Arabic, done right

What we get right in Arabic that generic translation misses

Gender in every sentence

Arabic verbs, adjectives and the word “you” change for men, women and groups. Forms, apps and emails written for one reader break for the rest. We write neutral wording or both forms, as your format allows.

Right to left, with English inside

Arabic reads right to left, but numbers, brand names and URLs run left to right in the same line. Mixed lines scramble easily in forms and PDFs. We set text direction and check every mixed line in your final files.

Which digits to use

Readers in the Maghreb use Western digits (1, 2, 3), while many formal texts in Egypt and the Gulf use Eastern Arabic digits (١، ٢، ٣). We agree the digit style with you and apply it to every date, price and number.

Hijri and Gregorian dates

Some Saudi and Gulf documents carry Hijri dates, and the Hijri year is about 11 days shorter than the Gregorian one. We convert every date exactly and can keep the original beside it.

One name, many spellings

An Arabic name can be written Mohammed, Muhammad or Mohamed in Latin letters. Mismatched spellings cause problems in records and contracts. We follow the passport or the spelling you give us and keep it the same in every file.

Arabic fonts that join correctly

Arabic letters change shape as they join, and the wrong font or software shows them broken apart. Arabic text also often runs longer than English. We typeset with proper Arabic fonts and check every page after layout.

Right-to-left layout

Arabic files ready to print or publish

Translation is half the job. Our desktop publishing team mirrors your layout so it reads right to left, sets the Arabic in fonts that join correctly, and checks every page where Arabic and English meet.

  • InDesign, Word, PowerPoint and PDF, mirrored page by page
  • Websites and apps checked for right-to-left menus, icons and forms
  • Subtitles timed and set right to left for video

Should we use Modern Standard Arabic or a dialect?

Use Modern Standard Arabic for contracts, regulatory, technical and most website content, because readers across the Arab world understand it. Use Gulf, Egyptian, Levantine or Maghrebi Arabic for marketing, video and community content aimed at one market. Tell us who your readers are, and we recommend the right variety.

Yes. Our desktop publishing team typesets Arabic in InDesign, Word, PowerPoint, PDF and web files, mirrors the layout, and checks every mixed Arabic and English line before delivery.

How long does an Arabic translation take?

Our Arabic team translates up to 12,000 words per day. Larger projects are delivered in batches, and rush delivery is available at +25%.

Do you provide certified Arabic translation?

Yes. Certified Arabic translations include a signed statement of accuracy on our letterhead. Tell us where the document will be used, and we confirm the format it needs.

Do you use AI translation?

Only if you ask for it. By default, every Arabic file is translated by a native human translator and revised by a second one.
