How we choose and check Farsi linguists

Farsi, done right
What we get right in Farsi that generic translation misses
Iranian Farsi or Afghan Dari
Farsi and Dari are considered one language, but their vocabulary, spelling, and everyday terms are different. Tajik, a third variety spoken in Tajikistan, is written in Cyrillic. We check where your customers and readers live, then assign an Iranian linguist for Farsi or our Dari team for Afghanistan.
Persian letters, not Arabic ones
Farsi ی and ک look like Arabic ي and ك, but they are different characters. Mixed files break search, sorting, and form checks, so we normalize every character and use Persian or Western digits, as you choose.
The half-space
Persian joins many word parts with a half-space (zero-width non-joiner). Without it, words split apart or run together. We keep it intact in Word, InDesign, and web files, and check it again after layout.
Solar Hijri dates
Iran uses the Solar Hijri calendar, and its year starts at Nowruz in March, so one Iranian year spans two Gregorian years. We convert every date exactly and can keep the original date beside it.
Formal or conversational Persian
Written and spoken Persian are different: they use different verb forms and vocabulary. Formal written Persian is used for contracts and medical texts, while apps and campaigns are often translated closer to speech. We check the register with you first.
Right-to-left layouts
Farsi reads right to left, while numbers and English names run left to right in the same line. We set text direction, mirror layouts, and check every mixed line in your final files.

Farsi translation questions
How much does Farsi translation cost?
Translation plus revision starts at $0.08 per word, and certified documents start at $25 per page. Rush delivery adds 25%, and your fixed quote sets the price and delivery date before we start.
Do you translate Farsi, Dari, or Tajik?
Yes. We translate Farsi for readers in Iran, and Dari for Afghanistan through our Dari team. Tajik, spoken in Tajikistan and written in Cyrillic, is available on request with a quote for your project. Tell us where your readers live, and we match the variant, vocabulary, and spelling to them.
How long does a Farsi translation take?
Our Farsi team translates up to 12,000 words per day. Larger projects are delivered in batches, and rush delivery is available at +25%.
Do you translate Farsi documents into English?
Yes. Our Farsi translators can translate Farsi contracts, company records, certificates, and research transcripts into English. Dates are converted from the Solar Hijri calendar to the Gregorian calendar, and a second Farsi linguist checks every name and number against the original.
Can you deliver Farsi in our design files?
Yes. We can translate directly in InDesign, Word, and web files. We keep the Persian half-space (nim-fasele) and right-to-left direction intact, and check how every page looks after layout.
Do you use machine or AI translation?
Only if you ask for it. By default, every Farsi file is translated by a native human linguist and revised by a second one.
